
Christopher Sammond has carried a concern for faithfulness and spiritual deepening in the Religious Society of Friends for over 30 years. He has led scores of interactive workshops and retreats for Friends, including ones at Powell House, Woolman Hill, Pendle Hill, the Earlham School of Religion, the Friends United Meeting Triennial, the Friends World Committee for Consultation World Gathering, and the Friends General Conference Gathering. He brings years of experience working with meetings on their worship life while serving New York Yearly Meeting as their General Secretary.
Christopher has shared plenary talks at the FGC Gathering, and at Quarterly and Yearly Meetings. In the School of the Spirit’s Participating in God’s Power program, where he served as a core teacher, and in his more recent workshops, he has focused on connecting our mystical practice as Friends with our callings to work in the world. In addition to his work with Friends, he has served as a chaplain in hospice and drug and alcohol treatment center settings. Christopher is a recorded minister of New York Yearly Meeting and is currently serving as Administrator for School of the Spirit Ministries. He lives in the Fingerlakes region of upstate New York with his wife Barbara, their dog Ellie, and cats Harriet and Lil.
